Amy Chiyoko Kawano, 97, of Waimea died Sept. 14 at her caregiver’s residence in Kailua-Kona. Born in Kainaliu, she was a vegetable farmer, a former photographer, Japanese language instructor and piano teacher, and a member of the Japanese American Civic Club and the Kamuela Hongwanji Mission.
